Minneapolis BAYR 4 (January/February 2022)

Attendance

Attendance in all sessions is required to complete the BAYR. To participate in the event, attendees must:

Be COVID-19 vaccinated or have a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours of January 28, 2022 and verification of submission to the CastleBranch app by that date.

  - We will review all requests for exemptions from any vaccination requirements on a case-by-case basis and determine the appropriate accommodation if any.
- Proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test result is required via CastleBranch app by January 28, 2022.
  - Instructions on how to submit documentation will be provided at a later date. Watch your Walden email for more information.
Be free of any primary symptoms of COVID-19.
Wear masks during the event.

Sanitize hands throughout the event.
Social distance (6 feet) during the event.
Adhere to daily temperature checks.
Quarantine / isolate in sleeping room if symptom positive.

Masks

All attendees must comply with the Walden University event requirements and wear a face mask throughout the event (except while eating, drinking, or taking oral medications for brief periods), in the Walden event space, i.e., small group meeting space with peers and faculty and in offices with Walden staff; even if fully vaccinated, unless you meet the criteria for exemptions.

All attendees are expected to adhere to Minnesota’s current guidelines for face coverings. Masks and/or face shields are required for all Walden University students, faculty, and staff during sessions and activities in and around Walden meeting spaces, regardless of vaccination status and COVID-19 test results.View Disability Services and Walden’s Safety and Social Responsibility document (printable version) for exemption requests and policies.

Masks are required on planes, buses, trains, and other forms of public transportation traveling into, within, or out of the United States and in U.S. transportation hubs such as airports and stations. Daily Testing

All attendees will participate in daily, on-site temperature checks. Individuals who do not provide proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test result, will not be permitted to participate in Walden sessions or activities. If an individual tests positive and/or is not able to attend, the student will complete the virtual BAYR option.

Walden has contracted with health care providers to perform daily, on-site temperature checks. Individuals who opt out of testing will not be permitted to participate in Walden sessions or activities. All testing will remain confidential.

Should an attendee experience COVID-19 symptoms, one COVID-19 test will be administered and covered by Walden. Subsequent tests are the responsibility of each attendee.
Walden and the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis will respond with established health safety protocols.
Health safety and medical guidance and recommendations will be provided by the on-site health care provider.
Guidance and protocols include quarantine / isolation in the individual’s guest room until check out, visit to a local clinic or hospital, etc.

If an individual cannot complete BAYR courses due to illness, a request to withdraw you from the course will be initiated by Academic Residencies and subject to the Cancelling Due to an Emergency / Petitions policy.

Risk of COVID-19

Walden University cannot prevent attendees from becoming exposed to, contracting, or spreading COVID-19 while participating in academic residencies.

If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, you will not be admitted to the event space and will be required to quarantine/isolate in your guest room until check out and/or visit a local clinic or hospital, etc. Should you be sharing a guest room with someone, you will need to secure, at your own expense, a guest room to quarantine/isolate.

Should you test positive during the event or within 7 days of the event culmination, you must comply with local and state contact tracing guidelines as outlined by local health authorities.
